ABOUT US: HOME, SWEET HOME
Our residency at the Multicultural Arts Center in East Cambridge, MA.
ABOUT OUR VENUE
The mission of the Multicultural Arts Center is to support diversity through visual and performing arts. From our inception, Bridge Rep has been dedicated to cultivating creative teams and audiences that are diverse in age, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, and other demographics. We initially discovered our synthesis of values in November 2016 when we held our first performance in the Multicultural Arts Center's stunning theater: a spectacular and successful Noel Coward-inspired event called The Marvelous Party. We followed up in April of 2017 with Emily Mann's Mrs. Packard, a stirring American drama based on the true-life story of Elizabeth Packard, who in 1861 was wrongly incarcerated by her husband and against her will in a Jacksonville, Illinois insane asylum. In 2018 -- Bridge Rep's fifth year -- we were honored to become the Multicultural Arts Center's first-ever company in residence, and staged the world premiere production of George Brant's Dark Room, inspired by the life, death and photography of Francesca Woodman, with an unprecedented cast of 22 women. Now in our sixth year overall, we're thrilled to be in our second year in residence, calling the Multicultural Arts Center and East Cambridge, MA our home, sweet home.
